Grant Finder guide

2. Bring together your evidence

In Organization & facts, enter your name, applicant category, mission and source-linked facts. The category comparison flags whether your selected type is listed, absent or needs review. It does not resolve geography, program-specific requirements or legal eligibility.

In an application, write requirement checks with the source and your evidence. Unknown or unmet checks prevent saving a reviewed draft. You can mark a requirement not applicable only with a source and explanation. These assessments are self-recorded and are not agency verification.

3. Prepare answers and a budget

Build outline from facts copies your organization name, mission and evidence into editable sections, leaving the project plan and budget justification for you to complete. It makes no model calls and invents no outcomes, qualifications or costs. Edit the sections to match the funder's actual questions. Updating organization facts does not automatically rewrite your answers; compare and review them again.

Budget rows use exact USD arithmetic. Classify each as a grant request or other/matching funds. A blank amount is unfinished; zero is an entered amount. The sum is a planning total, not proof that a cost is allowable or a matching requirement is satisfied. Read the award conditions before choosing amounts.

Set an internal target date for your own planning. It is separate from the official listed closing date. Use Refresh source to inspect a new source snapshot before replacing your working copy; answers and existing reviewed drafts remain intact.

4. Keep a reviewed draft

Complete required sections, source-linked requirement assessments and any budget/fact rows, then enter a reviewer name and note. The app freezes that draft with its organization facts and opportunity snapshot. Later edits do not change the saved version. Names and timestamps are self-entered/device supplied; a saved version is not a verified signature, agency approval or proof of submission.

Export the right record

A reviewed draft exports to Markdown or a script-free HTML packet for offline reading and browser printing. It includes the selected draft's organization facts, answers, requirements, budget and original source text. Budget CSV protects formula-like cells. A calendar file adds an all-day reminder on your internal target date, with a link to the official record. No reminder is sent by this app.

Only Export backup includes the full restorable JSON workspace. Markdown, HTML, CSV and calendar reports cannot be restored as backups. Downloads contain readable private information. Share and store them with care. Applications must be submitted through the funder's official process; this app does not apply on your behalf.

Privacy, storage and recovery

Your organization profile, facts, saved applications, assessments and drafts are stored in IndexedDB in this browser profile. Anyone with access to that profile can read them. The theme preference is in localStorage. There is no cloud backup, account login, automatic sync or app-provided encryption-at-rest guarantee.

Search keywords, filters and requested public opportunity IDs are sent to this site's server and Grants.gov. The hosting service and data provider may retain request logs. Do not enter confidential information into a public search query. Private application records are not sent to a server or model. Source links open the external site only when you follow them; source HTML is converted to inert text.

Export a backup before clearing browser data, removing an application, switching devices or restoring. Storage can be unavailable, full or removed. If saving fails, current edits remain in memory for export; closing the tab may lose them. Concurrent tab writes are checked against a saved revision. A conflicting tab stops edits until you export it and reload saved data.

Restore validates the full file before asking to replace the workspace. Cancelled, superseded, malformed or oversized imports cannot replace your records. A backup can be edited outside the app; structural validation does not authenticate its facts, reviewer identities or dates. Removing local records does not delete downloaded or shared files.

Current coverage and limits

The free preview supports 20 saved applications, 30 organization facts, 20 sections and 40 requirement checks per application, 50 budget rows and 10 reviewed versions per application. Backups are limited to 5 MB. Search pages contain up to 20 results, with the first 40 pages accessible; refine the query if more results exist. Only USD budgets are implemented.

Provider access can fail or data can change. The app shows errors and source dates rather than inventing results. Search and detail calls are bounded and cached; in-memory request limits are per server instance, not a durable account quota. Verify source text, attachments, deadlines and eligibility with the awarding agency.

Accounts with email/password or Google, private cloud records, team reviews, additional grant feeds, automated alerts, attached-document extraction, assisted writing, subscriptions and one-time payments are not available. Broader device, browser, screen-reader, operational and paid lifecycle acceptance remains open. This is an independent preview, not an official government service.
